Is This The Class I Need?
Our classes are designed by Dr. Ari Novick, Ph.D., a licensed and practicing Family Therapist and Anger Management Specialist. They are devised to cover all the topics that the Wisconsin Family Court Commissioner requires. This includes developing empathy for the issues that children might face during divorce, improving self-esteem, how to avoid parental mistakes, the importance of positive role modeling, effective communication, and co-parenting plans to minimize the negative impact of divorce. Parents of children under the age of 18 must attend a parent education program when going through divorce. If you are interested in taking our online program instead of weekly group classes, we suggest getting prior approval from your judge, mediator, social worker or probation officer.

Wisconsin Divorce Laws
At least one of the spouses must have lived in the state for the 6 months prior to filing for divorce and a resident of the county for at least 1 month. However, once you file, you don't have to stay in the are. It's a no-fault state, so all you have to say is the marriage is "irretrievably broken." A final hearing will then be scheduled for at least 4 months later. Most divorces tend to take about 6 months to a year to finalize unless there are contested issues that can't be resolved. Wisconsin is a community property state so all joint assets must be divided equally.
