California Online Parenting Class Highlights:
Why Is the Court Mandating a Class?
The family court might require a parenting or co-parenting class if you are going through a divorce, adoption, or becoming a foster parent. The goal is to assist caregivers with new proven techniques that help you to best parent your child. The idea is to help make the transition as easy on your child as possible.

California Divorce Laws
California courts strive to make the divorce process as easy as possible for the child. They take into account each parent's relationship with the child to date, any evidence of neglect or abuse, and a detailed look at the child's health, safety, education and overall general welfare. The court will do it's best to maintain the pre-divorce routine as much as possible.
California Family Code section 3042
This statute went into effect in January 2012. It tries to give the child a voice by making the child's custody preference a more significant factor than in the past. Now the court must listen to adolescents 14 years or older (unless the court decides it's unnecessary).
Parenting Classes in California
Each court in California can decide if they want to assign parenting or co-parenting classes to the parents. If you have been required as part of your legal agreement, we suggest that to ease the strain of this difficult time, you ask the judge or your attorney to allow you to take an online parenting class instead of going to weekly in-person classes.
California Customer Response
"I was mandated to take 16 weeks of parenting classes but absolutely couldn't make it to the classroom each week because of my crazy work schedule. I was able to take this class online and get through it one weekend. As soon as I turned the certificate of completion in, I was back on track to having my kids every weekend."
